Original Columbia Stereo Terre Haute Pressing

A very nice original copy of Alexander “Skip” Spence’s legendary and highly sought-after 1969 solo album, Oar. This is the original Columbia stereo pressing manufactured at the Terre Haute, Indiana plant, with the following identifying details:

• Label: Columbia
• Format: Stereo LP

• Cover identifier: Letter “A” in the lower-left corner of the rear cover
• Includes: Original Columbia company inner sleeve

Vinyl: VG / VG+

The vinyl is in strong VG / VG+ condition, with only some minor surface marks and light background crackle here and there. It plays nicely throughout and plays through with no skips or pops.

Labels

The labels are clean and present very nicely.

Sleeve: VG

The original sleeve is a solid VG, presenting nicely overall while showing some light to moderate shelf wear, along with a little light ring wear. There are a couple of very tiny corner bumps and two small stains along the lower edge of the front cover. Please see the photos for a closer look at these imperfections.

The seams are strong, and there is no writing or tearing on the sleeve.

A Rare and Desirable Original

An original U.S. copy of Oar in a desirable early Columbia pressing, complete with its original company inner sleeve. The Terre Haute pressing details, matrix information, and “A” cover identifier make this a particularly nice example for collectors of Skip Spence and original psychedelic/folk-rock pressings.
