About the Album:

Released in 1970, Look-Ka Py Py further solidified The Meters as architects of the stripped-down New Orleans funk sound. Driven by the deep pocket of Zigaboo Modeliste, the melodic bass lines of George Porter Jr., the inventive guitar work of Leo Nocentelli, and the signature keyboard grooves of Art Neville, this album captures the band at the height of their early instrumental power.

The title track alone is a funk staple, sampled and revered for decades, while the album as a whole stands as a cornerstone of deep-groove American music.
